How people use their time in modern societies? And how routines of society shape democratic participation?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This spring, we are organising sessions as part of <strong>FORTHEM Democracy Week<\/strong>, in collaboration with partners across <strong>Finland<\/strong>, <strong>Bosnia<\/strong>, and <strong>Norway<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sessions bring together social scientists and university students,to reflect on how everyday life \u2014 work, caregiving, routines, and time pressure \u2014 influences our ability to take part in democracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About the Event<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Locations:<\/strong> University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4 (Finland), Sarajevo (Bosnia), Agder (Norway)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Format:<\/strong> Hybrid (on-site + online participation)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The sessions combine expert input, discussion, and interactive elements, including workshop-style activities where participants reflect on their own daily lives and opportunities for civic engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Programme<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Session 1: Everyday Life in Finland<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udccd University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4 (Alvar Aallonkatu 9, Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4, RUUD101 (Juho)) + Online<br>\ud83d\udcc5 <strong>Wednesday 8 April 2026<\/strong><br>\ud83d\udd52 <strong>14:15 \u2013 15:45<\/strong> (Finland) \/ <strong>13:15 &#8211; 14:45 <\/strong>(CET)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This session explores how everyday life in Finland is structured and how this supports democratic participation.
