Every year, students taking part in the Student Forum on Future Democracy write a declaration reflecting their shared perspectives on democracy. These texts are known as the Wartburg Declarations, named after Wartburg Castle in Eisenach, Thuringia, which participants visit during the Forum.

The declarations are published by the originators of the Student Forum, Gesellschaft zur Erforschung der Demokratiegeschichte e.V., as well as by us in the Student Network on Future Democracy, who co-organize the Forum, contribute to selecting its theme, guide the declaration-writing process during the event, and edit the text into its final form.
